Speaker: Joanne Dustin
Under the constant pressure of marketing yourself as a consultant in this tough economy, it’s all too easy to lose touch with who you are and why you’re doing what you’re doing -your personal connection with your business. With signs that the economy is beginning to improve, this is the ideal time to reconnect.
In this highly interactive session, you will embark on a journey of self-discovery to invent or reinvent yourself as a consultant through defining your personal brand.
Personal branding is the art of marketing yourself and creating a positive impression in the minds of other people that makes you memorable and sought-after. There are many ways to build your brand: getting published, getting quoted, speaking at association meetings and conferences, social networking … but first you need to define your brand. Who are you … really? What do others see in you? What do they say about you? What do you want them to say?
In a world where we are constantly bombarded with imagery and messages, it’s easy to become invisible. To stand out … to create a powerful impression … requires self-assessment and introspection, and it requires courage to put your real self out there. Through greater understanding of who you are and where you come from: your strengths, skills, values and sense of purpose, you can breathe new life into your personal brand and re-energize your consulting practice.
