Three Easy Pieces: Contracts for Consultants and Freelancers

The Gig Economy has arrived. By 2027, the majority of American workers will be independent contractors and will need reliable contracts.

As a consultant or solo professional, you need to turn your proposals into enforceable agreements. In this seminar, Carrie Green Yardley will teach you the basic principles you need to know when you negotiate, draft, and review your contracts.

Attend this workshop to learn:

  • How to break your contracts into "Three Easy Pieces" (cover letter; business terms - including scope of work; and legal terms)
  • What to look for if your client wants to use their own contract forms
  • How to use S.M.A.R.T. principles to prepare your scope of work
  • Which essential elements need to be included in your agreement
  • How the “four corners” rule ensures you and your client have a complete agreement
  • What language you need to avoid in your agreements
