Principal Strategist + Storyteller
Erica Holthausen is an experienced content marketing professional who helps consultants demonstrate their expertise, expand their influence, and increase their impact through strategic and insightful content. As principal of Catchline Communications, she serves as chief strategist, writer, and editor. She develops original, high-quality content, including blog posts, white papers, ebooks, case studies, and newsletters. She also serves as a ghostwriter, collaborating with her clients to develop articles for trade journals and industry publications.

Prior to establishing Catchline Communications, Erica held several senior-level positions in the nonprofit, consultancy, and agency worlds. But she started her career as an attorney. She credits her legal training with teaching her how to use persuasive writing techniques, ask the right questions, and translate complicated concepts into simple language.

Erica has facilitated a marketing workshop for nonprofit professionals at Northern Essex Community College since 2013. She is a contributing writer for several magazines and is currently working on several personal essays and grappling with a novel. She holds a B.A. from The George Washington University and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. She lives in Newburyport, Massachusetts, where you will often find her reading a good book.
A content marketing strategy defines exactly how your consulting practice can meet the needs of and build rapport with your audience. Implemented consistently over time, it allows you to demonstrate your expertise and approach while positioning you as a leader in your field.

Original, high-quality content including blog posts, white papers, ebooks, case studies, newsletters, and ghostwritten articles that demonstrate your expertise, position you as a leader in your field, and speak directly to the needs of your audience.

You have a solid draft written, but you want to make sure it is as strong as possible. Developmental editors clarify the audience, tone, structure, focus, and content of a piece to make sure it accomplishes the stated goal.
