CONSULTANTS MAKEOVERSpeaker: Jeff Deckman
In this program, Jeff led our consultants at the meeting through a process that engaged their creativity and tapped into their capabilities. Our subject, Bruce Katcher was able to see his business challenge in a new light and gave him ideas that he has since implemented to the betterment of his business. There were two important levels to experience in his program. First, everyone in the audience had the chance to participate in an event that helped a colleague. Second, Jeff showed us a methodology that allowed us to spontaneously harness the capabilities of a group and then focus them on an objective for almost immediate results. This time, another consultant will be given the opportunity for a make over and we will again witness the magic of group process. Later in the year, we plan to reopen SPC University and invite Jeff to lead a program where he shares his insights about getting the most from the communities we consult with. SPEAKER BIO: Jeffrey is a founding principal of New Commons. New Commons provides a platform for new thinking and doing as well as linking solutions to problems. The company works with groups & teams, individuals, organizations and communities--to reframe convention, and reconceptualize a problem to connect and generate solutions. Jeff started his career in the Cable Television industry in 1974 as a "grunt", a lineman and a tower worker before progressing into engineering and management. After working his way from the bottom of the trenches into supervisory and management capacities he became an entrepreneur in the telecommunications industry in 1981. Since that time he has started and "bootstrapped" several companies and organizations, most of which have been in the fast moving and rapidly changing technology industry. Over the past fifteen years he has also been a civic and a political entrepreneur. He has worked to launch and/or build many trade associations, non-profits and political organizations. His eclectic background has afforded him the opportunity to learn many different skill-sets unique to to each of the environments in which he has immersed himself. Jeffrey seeks to interact with professionals who are open to exploring new ways of thinking to solve traditional problems. He works best with people and organizations that value creativity; foster innovation; encourage entrepreneurialism; are not afraid of introspection and who are committed to growing in a healthy, responsible and sustainable manner. Please note that this meeting will be held at: The Hilton Garden Inn, Waltham, MA
