Chad Carr, lecturer on law at Harvard Law School and clinical instructor in the Harvard Negotiation and Mediation Clinical Program, will discuss the negotiation framework developed and refined by the Harvard Program on Negotiation. In this session you will learn how to apply the latest negotiation research and theory to:

  • Debunk widespread myths about negotiation
  • Prepare for professional and personal negotiations
  • Organize an efficient negotiation process
  • Structure a deal to create value
  • Determine whether your agreement is a good one

This session will provide an overview of the framework that is taught at Harvard Law School and through the Program on Negotiation. 

 

About Our Speaker:

 

Chad Carr is a Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School and a Clinical Instructor in the Harvard Negotiation and Mediation Clinical Program.  He is also an Adjunct Professor at the Georgetown University Law Center and has taught negotiation as a visiting professor at the University of Oregon School of Law and as a lecturer at Vermont Law School. A graduate of Harvard Law School, Chad clerked for the Honorable Patti B. Saris in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts and practiced at Ropes & Gray, LLP, in Boston, assisting large corporations with major transactions including debt financing, acquisitions, and fund formations. Chad currently teaches the Negotiation Workshop for Harvard Law School students and supervises student groups who work with real clients on conflict resolution projects. Chad also provides negotiation training to a variety of public and private clients.
